The exclusive Loft 19 sundeck also has its own infinity-style hot tub that overlooks the Serenity pool area. They are also 249 square feet with the same size balcony as a standard, but the balcony itself is more enclosed. There are 112 Cove Balcony cabins, and they can also sleep up to four guests. Camp Ocean, Carnival's kids club, is impressive on Carnival Jubilee. It's fun, brightly colored and modern, and it's staffed by a dedicated team that organizes games, crafts and other activities for children, based on age.
Carnival Jubilee Cruise Review – Day 1
Many of the lines do move quickly, but our wait times ranged from 5 to 30 minutes. Starting in December 2023, Carnival Jubilee will sail year-round western Caribbean voyages from Galveston, Texas. The seven-night voyages will consist of three sea days along with calls to Cozumel and Costa Maya, Mexico and Roatán, Honduras. In the Punchliner Comedy Club, guests can enjoy both family-friendly and adults-only comedy shows.

Kids’ Clubs and Activities on Carnival Jubilee
However, the best part is that it goes beyond just the main dining room. In addition to dining at the Pacific Dining Room, guests can choose to dine at Cucina del Capitano and Chibang for no additional fee. If you’ve never cruised from Galveston, TX before, it’s important to know that the cruise port is not conveniently near an airport like most Florida homeports. Most cruise passengers will fly into Houston Hobby (HOU) or Bush-Intercontinental (IAH), which will require some drive time to get to the cruise port. This is why it’s extra important to fly in a day early for your cruise. For those looking for a little adventure, there’s the Ultimate Playground zone.
Ship Overview
The ship feels Texas, and not just because it sources a lot of passengers from the Lone Star state. Found on the menu at the Golden Mermaid, it's a mix of gin, St-Germain liqueur, white cranberry juice, dragon fruit and lime juice. It was a bit too dry for me, so I didn't care for the taste, but you won't want to miss the presentation. After the show, "guests" (passengers) are encouraged to attend the "reception" (a dance party with the ship's DJ) in the ship's Limelight Lounge.
Six huge LED “windows” — and the awe-inspiring wavy LED ceiling — will help transport you to mesmerizing digital underwater worlds. These screens are the center of the local entertainment, with interactive audio-visual elements that let kids, adults and everyone enjoy and add to the under-this-world seascapes! Plus there’s Seaquest, a show that virtually transforms the zone into a submarine on an adventure we’ll enjoy together. And with everything to see, don’t forget about the fantastical flavors, with Emeril’s Bistro 717™, Dr.Inks, Ph.D.™ and The Golden Mermaid™.
For Breakfast are also offered Shrimp & Grits, and Shrimp Creole Omelet. A-la-carte menu appetizers cost US$2 each, entrees are priced at US$12. While this venue is a sit-down restaurant in the evenings, it offers a BBQ buffet for lunch on sea days. Since I’m not a huge fan of barbeque, I grabbed my second go-round at Shaq’s Big Chicken before heading downstairs to Summer Landing. Tonight was the first time that we would be dining in the MDR for dinner. While we like the virtual queue idea, it didn’t work as well as it did during our cruise on Celebration last year.
Carnival Jubilee Rooms are Efficient, Offer Options
And kids dine free off the kids’ menu at Fahrenheit 555 steakhouse, Bonsai Sushi, and Rudi’s Seagrill. Starters include blue mussels, seared shrimp, oysters and the aforementioned lobster mac and cheese. Soup and salad choices include seafood bisque, fisherman's stew, house tossed salad or baby romaine with cauliflower and honey nut squash. Tides Pool on Deck 16 aft is near the action at Shaq’s Big Chicken; two hot tubs are also located here. Located aft on Deck 8, it’s an infinity pool with a little wading area, so you just want to sit in the water without fully immersing, you can.

Restaurants
The menu has several types of meat — including steak, of course, as well as lamb chops and chicken — and seafood items like fish and lobster tail. I went with a 9-ounce filet mignon, which was cooked to perfection. It came alongside several sauces and sides of broccoli and crinkle-cut fries for $49 ($15 for kids). Another excellent dinner during my voyage occurred at Rudi's Seagrill (Deck 8), an upscale seafood restaurant named for chef and pop artist Rudi Sodamin.
Balcony Staterooms
Rudi’s Seagrill is the seafood specialty restaurant on Carnival Jubilee with a $49 up-charge. It does have other items on the menu for those who don’t like seafood, including steak and chicken. As you may have guessed, I opted for the house salad and free range chicken.
During this 90-minute class, our group prepared some of Emeril’s favorites including world-renowned New-New Orleans Pasta, Shrimp & Okra Gumbo, and Strawberries Romanoff. Day 4 of this Carnival Jubilee review was our first port of call in Mahogany Bay, Roatan. While we have visited Roatan a few times now, we typically dock in Coxen Hole; this was our first time visiting Mahogany Bay.
The new shows (named "Celestial Strings", "Soulbound", "Vintage Pop") use the full capacity of the interactive LED screens. A 4th show ("Amor Cubano - A Caribbean Dance Romance") is also available on the Horizon ship. Follows the complete list of Carnival Jubilee lounges, clubs and other entertainment venues for kids, teens, and adults. On January 25, 2019, was announced that the new Carnival XL-class vessels will have 6 themed zones (neighborhoods). Finishing dinner around 10 PM, we debated going to Piano Bar 88 with some of the media folks, but instead, we decided to call it a night.
Give me one or two pina coladas on a weeklong cruise, and I'm good to go. However, the massively creative options on the menus at both the Golden Mermaid and Dr.Inks, Ph.D. bars are absolutely worth a shoutout. I stayed in an Ocean Suite (a type of mini-suite), and I was thoroughly impressed by the amount of storage space, which would have been more than adequate for the four people my room could accommodate. I was also floored to discover ample electrical outlets, including at least one USB port near every bed in the room — including the bunk that pulled down from overhead.
Carnival Jubilee™ has its own Punchliner Comedy Club in the Grand Central zone, and up on stage you’ll find some real pros who know how to wedge a little laughter into anyone’s evening. Since some of them get up and say exactly what’s on their mind, we also schedule family-friendly performances… so the only red faces in the audience are from laughing a little too hard. In the world of Carnival Jubilee™ zones are where fun, flavor and relaxation live… and there are six just waiting for you to explore. Passengers can carry on one bottle of wine or Champagne per person (21 years and older); this will incur a $15 corkage fee for consumption in public areas. Each person can also bring up to 12 standard cans or cartons of nonalcoholic beverages like juice or soda.
Please view our advertising policy and product review methodology for more information. In addition to the included dining options, there are a number of for-fee restaurants across Carnival Jubilee. Venues that have a set per-person charge include classic American steakhouse Fahrenheit 555, Bonsai Teppanyaki which provides guests with both dinner and a fun show, and the seafood restaurant Rudi’s Seagrill. The Carnival Jubilee cruise ship also features a massive Lido Marketplace buffet open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It includes stations for pasta, salad, carved meats, stir-fry, sandwiches, desserts, and more. It’s just steps away from the aft Tides Pool deck area as well as the main Lido deck, meaning there’s lots of seating options both indoors and outdoors.
